The Springboard Philosophy
Throughout life, many people succeed because someone recognised their potential early and gave them an opportunity when it mattered. Built Smart Communities looks for that same moment – supporting people and organisations who show strong character, leadership potential, and genuine commitment to their community. Support isn’t one-size-fits-all. It might be financial assistance, an introduction, mentorship, or simply showing up and standing beside someone pursuing their goals. The aim isn’t long-term dependency – it’s a springboard that helps people take their next step.
How we support communities
Built Smart Communities forms partnerships, not sponsorship arrangements, across three groups: Emerging Individuals (athletes, students, artists and emerging community leaders); Community Organisations (clubs and organisations that bring communities together); Strategic Collaborations (organisations that share our philosophy of creating opportunities for others).
Ambassadors and The Community Bench
Two groups strengthen everything we do. Ambassadors believe in the philosophy and help represent and support the initiative. The Community Bench is the wider network of friends, supporters and community members who show up, encourage others, and help strengthen communities. Sometimes the most meaningful support someone can receive is simply knowing that someone believes in them.
Who we back
Community clubs like this carry towns. Sponsorship is the least of it.
- Newtown Jets: More than a sponsorship – our people are regulars on the hill, Player of the Match week after week.
- Alexandria Rovers: Backing the next generation of local talent as they find their footing.
- Mungindi Panthers: The whole game: women’s footy and Indigenous talent, backed equally.
- Manning Valley Race Club: Backing one of Taree’s biggest days on the calendar – because when a regional event thrives, the whole town feels it.
- Future Immortals Tour in conjunction with AKL Industries: Building aspirations for the next generation, on and off the field.
- Shanell Dargan: Multi-belt professional boxer, in her corner since the early rounds.
- Tyrell Adams: Australian Featherweight Champion and youth mentor – proof that a title is only half the story.
- Taliah Hunter: Proud Ngunnawal and Wiradjuri artist working as Damaradj Guuguuberra – backing creative talent and helping her work reach further.
